Re: emergency repair

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

You know that there isn't anything so special about the Windows 2000 ERD or what is on it. It is not bootable and it contains only 3 files:

autoexec.nt
config.nt
setup.log

The files are copied from: C:\WINNT\repair. Setup.log is the imporatant file. I don't think making the cd would be a big problem, getting the repair process to use it instead of the A: floppy drive would be the problem, like trying to get Mass Device Drivers (F6 when installing Windows) to accept a CD instead of a floppy, it doesn't work for the F6 routine and I don't think it will work for the repair process. An internal diskette drive cost about $15 and a USB diskette drive about $50. I think that is the only solution to the problem.
