Thanks for your reply...however before I continue I want
to clarify the following entries surrounded by ().

(I've never (nor recommend) upgrade OS to OS in-place, so
I can't say what you had.)

(FWIW W2K ("clean") has no such entry in HKLM...\User
Shell Folders\)

I did a backup of the registry and the entire computer
last night. But now I can't burn anything from the cdr
either....OMG...So need to see if I can email the back up
to another machine to burn it from their. Could you
please explain those comments in (). If I could post the
file I saved with all the errors it would be so much
easier for you to read what I was trying to write. Let
me know if there is anything else for me to say. Thanks
