Windows 2000 server won't store user and password on vpn connection

Help,

I have created a vpn connection using the connection wizard (It's a direct
internet connection) which works fine.

The only problem I have is that it will not store the user and password for
the connection when even if I tick the save password box. this is caling a
problem as another program we use to send data to a remote pc keeps falling
over because the vpn connection is using the wrong username & password.

I assume that this is a policy setting that disables the storing of
usernames and passwords but I can't seem to find out what it is or how to
change it.

Please can someone point me in the right direction.

Thanks in advance
Jeremy
