Connection drop. restart service to fix?

I have a windows 2000 sp4 RRAS server that we are connecting to via PPTP
from a cyberguard. The initial connection works fine. We can route all day
long through it. Once we disconnect the session the cyber will attempt to
reconnect. It will fail until we restart the ras service, then it will
connect but not route anywhere. restart the service again and it works
great. So it takes 2 ras service restarts to get the connection to work.
Also, vpn connections from windows xp clients work fine.
Any ideas?
