Problem connecting to VPN with windows xp sp 2

I have a VPN running on a windows 2000 server at work.
>From home I have several computers running windows 2000
pro service pack 4 and others running windows xp pro sp
2. From the windows 2000 machines there is no problem
connecting to the VPN server. However, from the xp
machines the connection attempt often returns error 721.
I get the verifying usename and password box and then
error 721. If I keep redialing eventually, I can make a
connection. I have found several other discussion groups
that describe this problem but have not been able to find
any where someone has provided a solution. I found a
Microsoft VPN document that suggested turning the
ValidateAddress off for the PPTP connection and I have
done this but it does not help. Any help would be
appreciated.
