Thanks for the response. I will need to check again... But
the problem is only on XP professional clients to which i
am not able to install NetBuei protocol(for RAS). Do you
think i should not have problem browsing network resources
even if i do not have NetBuei installed on these clients?.
Same problem i have on Windows 2000 professional & Windows
98 clients if I remove the NetBuei protocol...

Are you able to go out of your Notebooks? Are you able to
ping any machines outside of your notebook?
If not, then I guess your default gateway is not properly
set.

On the connectoid which you use to RAS in, properties-
Networking-
TCP/IP->Properties->Advanced- Check " Use the default
gateway on remote computer" so you will be to go to
any resources on the remote network once you are
connected.

Dear RAS experts,

I hope someone can help me with this problem...

We have RAS running on windows 2000 server. It has been
more than 2 years since we have been using this box as
RAS server without any problem. The client computers have
windows 2000 professional & windows 98. Remote users use
RAS for connecting to the network for accessing files
located on the file servers & emails(through Microsoft
Outlook). We have file servers & exchange servers located
on different boxes than the RAS server. Even then, windows
2000 & 98 clients do not have problem accessing this.
Both NetBeui & TCP/IP protocols have been installed on
client computers. FYI, file servers, RAS server & exchange
servers have static private IP's (10.10.10.x) assigned
to their network card. DHCP is also running.

Now the problem. Recently we purchased 2 notebooks
running Windows XP professional. As most of you know,
NetBeui protocal can not be installed on XP professional
for RAS. Though i am able to connect to RAS servers from
Windows XP clients(authentication goes through just fine),
I am not able to browse network or open microsoft Outlook
for emails... Since NetBeui protocol could not be
installed on XP for RAS, i think this is causing the
problem. IS THERE A SOLUTION?? Please kindly help!

Thanks
Victor
