Typically that is the case.

Is the Lexmark printer still installed? If the printer is gone make sure
all the Lexmark software is also removed.

an issue well known. If your friend no longer has the Lexmark printer,
download the uninstall utility for the printer (model specific so if you
don't know the model go straight to the other links) to clean up the extra
setup functions that were performed outside of the spooler service.

A question: the LexBCE server *is* actually running. I understood that
the spooler error I have usually happens when a print spooler is dependent
on the LexBCE server but that was *not* working. Is that correct?
