Sorry .. a few more details about the environment:
The boxes affected are Citrix and Print Servers.
In the Citrix environment I run a weekly script to delete the contents of
the Temp <DIR> every Saturday night. It is now Thursday and it is up to 9000
driver files consuming 1.7Gb. The time/date stamps indicate it is creating
roughly 2000 new files a day.
This is only happening on Citrix servers in use. We have a few Servers not
in use with all the drivers installed as per our standard build and the Temp
<DIR> is clean.
Thanks for your time,

the driver files in the hardware ID directory are stored their for.
reinstallation of plug and play devices. On a print server with most of the
printers on the network, you will never need these files again. I have
never seen them return after a reboot. Do you use printmig to backup and
restore printers. Printmig just copies all the files under \drivers so
these get copied as well. I have never seen driver dll files in the temp
directory. Are they coming from brother or are the from all manufactures?

Hi Everyone,
I've noticed when I install printer drivers, they save to the usual path:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86\3
but they also create all the driver files directly under
C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86
eg C:\...\w32x86\brotherhl_1430_serie3bf7
We have about 100 different print drivers installed on our server and this
seems to take up about 1Gb of space! If I delete the files they just
re-appear after a reboot.
I've also noticed the driver files appear under the C:\Windows\Temp
directory and take up about 1 Gb there as well.
Has anyone ever seen this behaviour? or know why it does that? Just seems
really strange to me ..
Anyway, thanks in advance for any help you can offer,
Rgds
