Delete a file after it is sent to the spooler?

Hey all,
Can you immediately delete a file after it has been sent to the
printer and is in line in the queue and will it still print? It
appears that you can, but I'm wondering if the printer runs out of
paper and isn't replaced for 10 minutes, will that (deleted) file
remain in the queue until its turn and then print correctly and
completely? This pertains to 2000/XP, I posted this in 98 by mistake.
Thanks in advance.
Jordan
