Re: Stalled print job

That's is - my settings point there too!
Okay, the real strange thing is that it's empty, but there's still a stalled
job in my queue - the date is 12/31/1969...
I just can't get rid of it - it says that the status is "printing" and the
size is 380KB, but it just sits there. At this point, I can't print
anything else because of this clogging up the queue. Any ideas as to how I
could fix this?

Many thanks!
Mark

the default is \windows\system32\spool\printers but this can easily be
changed.

Verify the location. Open the Printers folder, then File, Server
Properties, Advanced

Thanks - where does the file reside these days? It's not in the spooler
folder...

microsoft.public.windowsxp.print_fax

Since I'm here... from the Command Prompt: net stop spooler

Then go in and delete the file

Then restart the spooler.... net start spooler

You can also turn the printer off for a few minutes as well and reboot
the PC.

I know this group is win2000.printing, but I couldn't find an XP version
of the group - hopefully somebody here can help me...

I have XP Pro SP2 with a stalled print job in the queue. Nothing will
make the document go away. In Win2K, I used to be able to stop the
printing service and then go into a folder where the document resided,
delete it, then restart the printing service. For the life of me, I
can't figure that out in XP.

How can I rid myself of this job in my queue?

Many thanks,
Mark
