Re: Printing over a WAN link

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

The second option, spool to print server over the wan link.
My program has the ability to zip an emf file and send it over,
which could further reduce the size over what windows offers.

Our company is printing from an AS/400 to printers connected over a WAN
link. Some of the AS/400 print queues are setup to spool to a local print
server which then prints to a printer over a WAN link, while others spool
to a print server over a WAN link then print to a printer that is local to
the print server.

Which of these configurations would have the smaller WAN footprint?

Thanks,
Paul
