RE: Printer listed but cannot connect

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

1. Local printer connected to workstation. Trying to access from another
workstation.

2. Windows cannot connect to the printer. Either the printer name was typed
incorrectly, or the specified printer has lost its connection to the server.
For more information, click Help.

3. Printers shared on the LAN work. I don't see anything strange about the
VPN. The printer shares using the VPN works on Windows 2000 machines without
a problem.

4. Would you mind explaining why offline files or folder redirection would
matter? We do not allow offline files do to the nature of the business. There
is no folder redirection occuring on the computers in question.

Is there a specific XP setting I should be looking at in terms of file and
print sharing besides enabling it on the VPN and/or LAN?

Thanks for any help.
