Cannot Print Single Sided

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

I have a number of HP laser printers with duplex capability; HP9000, HP4300,
HP4250. A user needs to print a 200 page document single sided. The print
server is a Server 2003, SP1, with the default setup for the appropriate
trays and duplex. We tried settig each of the printers properties to NOT
duplex but the job prints duplex anyway. Even though unselecting the
two-sided checkbox is available n the users workstation. How does a user
override the print servers setting to get a single sided print job.???
Workstations are XP, sp2.
