Print spooler

I have a windows 2000 network. On this network is a print server with a
HP laser printer attached. Office Pro is installed on the clients. I
keep experiencing a problem where a user is logged in and working on
excel or powerpoint. They can not print to this printer and get a
message saying it can not be found. If I then log in as systemadmin on
another machine I can print through the properties print test page to
the same printer. The other user still can not print to printer. If i
log on to another machine with the same user name as the one having the
problem and print through excel or powerpoint it works. It is like
excel or power point is having trouble finding the printer sometimes. I
then go to the server and type net stop spooler and then restart it and
the original user can then print through word or powerpoint from the
machine he was having trouble from in the beginning without rebooting
or logging in again. Can anybody give me any clues to what may be
wrong? Thanks.
