Naah.. changing the power supply could not have affected this.
One thing to try:
power up the computer with the printer off
go to Device Manager
is the printer listed?
if so, does it have a problem?
when you are ready to print, turn on the printer
go to Device Manager
if the printer was not listed, is it now?
if it was listed and had a problem, does it still?
right-click on My Computer in Device Manger
select Scan For Hardware Changes
if the printer was not listed, is it now?
if it was listed and had a problem, does it still?

switched out a faulty power supply for a good one. Could this problem be
because I missed hooking power to something or because another cable became
loose or disconnected during my "surgery"?
