Printer to Remote printers over wan

Group,
We have a central site that has many AD servers and print server
located in it. There are also many remote sites which only have 10-30
users and no servers onsite. These sites each have 3-5 printers
onsite. Currently to use AD printing, the print jobs have to come back
over the WAN to the central print servers and then be sent back out to
the remote site printers. Has anyone managed to setup AD printers which
mearly install the direct IP port and allow the client to print
directly, thus staying local to the printer? That way if you change a
setting or option in AD it is replicated to all users, AND print jobs
do not traverse the WAN Links.

Thanks,
Joel
