Printer won't install

Hi
I just brought a lexmark all in one printer unit. When I go to install the
software I get this message
c:\winnit\system32\autoexec.nt The system file is not suitable for running
MS-dos and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose "Close to terminate the
application

I am running win 2000pro 2.4 celron 20gig hd with 6.6 gig free room 196 meg
4ram.
Can antone help with this problem.
