Cannot load some Apps

    Fresh W2k install on VIA C3 800mhz CPU w/ 128mb DDR RAM, 20 gb HD. Cannot
    load the following:
    Acrobat reader 5.0
    MS Works 4.5
    Errormessage is" NTVDM .exe has generated errors and will close." Some times
    the error is "not enough memory". (for MS Works 59 mb memory required). I
    immediately proceed to load Corel 2000 at 179 mb with no problems
    I Am able to load older versions of Acrobat reader 4.0 and MS Works 4.0 with
    no problems. The MS knowledge base addresses this with certain CPU's but
    gives no workaround. Some other Apps generate this error upon attempting
    setup. Have downloaded SP4....same problem after.
    Any idea what is going on?
