Earlier is full

The folder for earlier pages got full after 999 days and didn't take any new
ones, so I took some old ones away but it still didn't take any new ones,
then I cleaned all and only those from 3 weeks back is kept. Isn't it
dynamic to take away just the oldest ones, or do we have to clean almost all
out?
