I have a three pc network, one Vista, two 2000. The priniter is hooked up to
the Vista pc via USB. I have printer sharing on, but it says password

error.

Setting up sharing in Vista, it never asked to set a password for the other
pc's to access the printer.

When do you get the "password required" message?

If it occurs when you try to access Vista's printer from Win2000, you
can either:

1. Go to Vista's Control Panel > Classic View > Network and Sharing
Center, and turn off password-protected sharing.

or:

2. Create a user account on Vista with the same user name and password
that you use to log into Win2000.
