Need help setting up RAS on W2K3

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

Hello,

I have an old machine that I'd like to connect via serial line to my W2K3
box.
The old machine can speak PPP or SLIP. I've set up the W2K3 box according
to a document that was intended for null modem connections to W2K. My
current problem is that PPP never connects to the W2K3 machine. SLIP
will connect to W2K3 when both sides are configured for the same IP
addresses,
however no communications occur between the systems. The external machine
can ping all it likes, but there is never a response. Likewise on the W2K3
side
there has never been any activity on the RAS dial-up line.

Any hints or pointers to successful connections would be helpful. I'm sure
that the problem lays on the W2K3 side as I've never tried to do this with
a Windows box.

Thank you,

David
