Re: DNS Not clearing up records

Hello,

Thank you for using newsgroup!

From your post, I suggest you check the following settings:
1. Expand Reverse Lookup Zone, double-click the PTR record, on the properties, make sure the
"Delete this record when it becomes stale" option be checked. If not, indicate that this record is
a static record, which doesn't apply Aging/Scavenging policy.
2. Check settings on DHCP:
a. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click DHCP.
b. Click the appropriate DHCP server or a scope on the appropriate DHCP server.
c. On the Action menu, click Properties.
d. Click the DNS tab.
e. To enable DNS dynamic update for DHCP clients that support it, click to select the
Automatically update DHCP client information in DNS check box. This check box is selected by
default.
f. To enable DNS dynamic update for DHCP clients that do not support it, click to select the
Enable updates for DNS clients that do not support dynamic updates check box. This check box is
selected by default
g. Click to select the Discard Forward Lookups When Leases Expire check box to have the DHCP
server delete the Host resource record for a client when its DHCP lease expires and is not renewed.
