I am a computer technician for a school district in Arizona and have come to a dead end. I have a lab of dell GX 280's running windows 2000 and I can't seem to network an Epson PhotoR2400. Now, usually, we network the printer and create a reservation for it on the network, create a batch file to add it for all users, etc. The Epson 2400 doesn't need a reservation because it's not a regular network printer per say, it's a printer connected via USB. I've tried sharing it out and adding it on each individual local machine but the students can't access it. Any suggestions? There’s an article about making modifications to the registry but I don’t think that’s what I want, I followed all the steps to no success. But, if you really want to share it from another Windows 2000 computer, you'll need to have your permissions set up so that other users can use it. For example:

Computer A shares "printer" with "Everyone - Print" permissions.
Computer B has user "user1" with password "pass" logged on.
In order for user1 to be able to print from Computer B to the printer on computer A, computer A must have a user account "user1" with password "pass". The same goes for any other users that want to print. I'm assuming you do NOT have an Active Directory (Windows domain). If you did, you wouldn't need to create the local accounts on each computer.
