Richard makes a good point here. Cached logons can be disabled in a policy.
There's no way around that one. Also, roaming profiles are generally copied
from the network location to the local computer so that cached logons will
work even with the roaming profiles. But that, too, can be disabled, or My
Documents and such can be redirected and offline files disabled so there's
no local copy.

I have a work laptop logging on to a domain at work. when I take the
