Re: log print jobs

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Ah - no. That will keep a copy of the document on the print server after
it's printed. Follow the "Windows NT 4.0" instructions exactly as they are
shown in the KB article. It does work.

Thanks. I think I see it now. It's in "Keep printed documents", isn' it?

The details are in the KB article. You'll probably need to be logged in
with an account with administrative permissions. I checked the article's
instructions on both XP and 2K and have the correct settings available
when
logged in as Administrator.

Hi Richard,

I have both win 2000 sp4 and win xp, but I don't see the option to log
print
jobs. I've looked at the Advanced tab under printer properties. I'm
probably not looking carefully enough. Would you please be able to
provide
the details to enabling print job logging?

Wallace

Follow the Windows NT 4.0 instructions for either Windows 2000 or XP
computers.

Dear all,

I have a workgroup with a Windows 2000 computer designated for
printing.
Is
there a way to log print jobs, including which user printed, how
many
pages,
and when the print job was sent?

Thanks to all who reply.

Wallace
