Sorry, but the IRQ number assigned is for legacy purposes and has little bearing on the issue at hand. In other words, "shared IRQ numbers" is NOT the issue.

Hi Bob,
The driver that I'm using is Win2k friendly. It's just that windows allocates a lot of device to 1 IRQ and I suspect that this is the main cause of the problem. Can't change the IRQ for the NIC to another that is not use.

If it is a PCI hardware interrupt issue caused by video card bus traffic, move the card, if it is a software interrupt issue replace the card with one that provides a Win2K frindly driver.

Hi Richard,
Yes I have updated my NIC driver and also email the game's support people and am waiting for reply.
However, I have read somewhere that the problem can be due to IRQ assignment by Windows. Is there a way to work around this ? (meaning I can change and control the assignment of IRQ to my NIC ? Currently I'm unable to change the IRQ setting for my NIC.

Have you checked for updated network card drivers? Contacted the game's support folks to see if this is a known problem for which there is a cure?

Hi,
I encounter this error when I try to play a internet game call Maple Story.
Installation of software and registration was smooth. However, after a few
minutes of game play, I will encounter the error and my pc will need to be
rebooted.
The exact message is, in a blue screen, <<< stop: 0x000000D1 (0x000001AE, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0xBEFB1C10) DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL Address BFEB1C10 base at BFEA7000, Datestamp 3eaf051d - NDIS.sys >>>.
And the last few time that I try to play the game, it lasted only a few seconds before the blue screen appear.
I'm using Windows 2000pro with a ADSL connection.
Hope you can help me....
Thanks and regards,
Jeffrey
