wireless connection for windows 2000 desktop

I have a Windows 2000 deskptop, a D-Link DI 764 wireless router(having
802.11a, 802.11b) and an EDIMAX 802.11g wireless card(USB card) for the
desktop machine. I am unable to connect to the internet through this
set up. Actually, I do have the network connection icon displayed and I
can even do a successful ping on web domains(say www.google.com) but
when I try opening a browser, it just says web page not found.
I checked the DNS/DHCP settings and nothing is "hard-wired" there and
it is set to obtain that information automatically.
I have 2 other laptops(one XP and one windows 2000) using a D-link
wireless card(802.11a) and working perfectly fine. Can anyone please
tell me if I am missing something here?
Arun
