Ipsec on win2k advanced server....
Do I need to install a certificate unique to my server only? Do I get this
key from one of the CA authorities? Is there one CA that gives certificates
for free? I am not in the USA any more can I still get a certificate?
Basically I want to be able to make secure IP connections over the internet
to any other host that I am connecting to, be it email or web surfing, I am
hoping to get all my TCP traffic secured...
I think I got as far as I can without installing a certificate, I got my
server making key exchanges with other ipsec enabled device or computer on
the internet, I can see this in ipsecmon but I think I need to install my
own certificate to make the whole Ipsec work as intended...
I am using win2k advanced server, I am using it as a stand alone server, and
I am really using it only as a workstation, I am not using any of the
services that it has the capability to deliver, it is running on my laptop
and I use public WiFi to make network connections, hence the need for IPsec
to work as good as possible...
So that is the whole picture...
