system error 53 is communication issue. make sure
no firewall blocking the traffic.

OK,
I see 3 possibilities but right now this is not a problem for me because
my VPN client access will only be for short periods of time and I can do
without Internet access during those times.

occurred. The network path was not found.
This evidently is keeping
me from Adding a Network Place for my connection. Any ideas what is
happening ?
I can establish a connection. I can then ping the remote
IP But then net view \\remoteip
fails.
There must be a reason for this and I wish I knew what it
was.
