we are running a network with 3 servers. two dc with gc, DNS and dhcp.
And one memberserver with exchange.
There is a problem sometimes from different clients. I will try to
describe it.
if you log on with one computer, and get the server two as
logonserver, it sometimes wont map up all drives from the script. and
i says it cant find the path. the other drives which are the ones on
the logonserver works fine. You can ping the server without any
problems. When you typ in RUN \\server1 it will connect to the server
but only get the data which we have done as offline files, eg home
directory.
This could even happen when you are alreade logged on, and have used
the drive on server1, and suddenly the "you are not connected to
server1, but you can still use your offline files" maybe not exactly
what it says.. :) but I think you know the message.
You can then restart your computer and the script works fine and you
can get access to all drives.
When I looked att the dns manager, I could see both server1 and
server2 dns, and all records in it in the zones. but when i click on
server2 dns, it says it wasnt configured, but still I could see the
records.. Ill then restart the dns service and it seems to work, but
this anoying and strange problem is still a problem.
Any hint or thought of what it could be?
