There is a quite complete list of programs for synchronizing trees of
files at http://www.foldermatch.com/fmcompetitors.htm
I highlight: unison http://www.cis.upenn.edu/~bcpierce/unison,
rsync http://samba.anu.edu.au/rsync/
I have written myself a set of Python routines in order to keep
synchronized two (or more) trees of directories. They are not easy to
use, but they work well. Look for "projman" at my web page
