I'm having the exact same problem here.
I found one way to fix this, but it is not anything that can be done on
a large scale. I first turned off Offline Files. Then I rebooted the
machine and deleted c:\winnt\csc. I then deleted the registry key
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\NetCache.
and re-enabled offline files. I then rebooted and the old server was
gone. Again, this isn't feasible for more than a few workstations, and
I'm still hoping someone has a better solution.
