I must be missing something very simple.
IE will not browse the internet on a clean win 2003
server (all two of them in fact). I can ping the external
DNS servers ok but name resolution fails in the browser
or ping. I simplified things to a stand alone server (no
domain), no DNS, no DHCP, no active directory, single
nic, proven hardware (LAN, router, ISP, etc.). The server
is on a private LAN attached to the internet through a
NAT firewall along with several XP workstations that
access the internet fine. The TCP setting are identical
to the workstations (with a unique IP address of
course). The LAN also works between the local
machines. What does Win 2003 do differently than Win XP
in this regard?
