Hardware id always zero = bug?

Hi there,
I'm trying to uniquely identify the computer of the currently logged
in user (under the current session). TS offers a value named
WTSclientHarwareId in its WTSQuerySessionInformation api call, but it
always returns zero!

I thought it was my fault, but now I found out that it displays zero
even on the MMC. Any ideas?

Other workaround is to use the MAC address travelling on the wire, the
thing is that all I know about the current user is its ip address,
missing the port number from wich the connection originated.
Besides, the reported ip address is sometimes the address behind a
NAT/Firewall, so it's pretty much useless since I won't find that ip
address on the wire.

I read that the liscence server stores a unique ID of every client,
any ideas on how to access that repository.
