This is Windows 98's password caching feature. You're getting logged in to
the network, but because your password conflicts with the password it's
remembered, it chucks up an error.
You can delete all the PWL files in the Windows directory to overcome this.
Also, you can enter a blank username and blank password and it'll stop
trying to remember passwords for you.
Oh, and while you're at it, you really need to ditch Windows 98. It's not
doing you or your network any favours.
