Hi All,

I've got an interesting problem which I don't seem to be able to find
much info on.

We've got an environment which runs internet Explorer 6.0 on a whole
bunch of laptops (Win 2k). Under "networks" we have a dial up entry
which allows the users to connect into the company network via their
inbuilt modem.

If you right click on the dial up entry and look at the properties,
the modem shows as being the active connection, with an IR link listed
there as well (but not used).

After installing the IE 6.01 update patch, the following occurs:

- An new device is added to the properties of the dial up entry called
"direct Parallel"
- The selected device is changed from the correct modem entry to the
Direct Parallel one.

Does anyone know either why this order would change, or why the direct
parallel option would be added? I know its a miniport driver thing but
surely the selected modem shouldn't change??

I'm really stuck on this one, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Regards,

Emil Nadinic.
