Operating Windows 2000 professional.
While trying to sign on via DSL (newly installed Verizon
DSL software 5.0) I get message "DUN is not present or
new DUN did not install." (That's a paraphrase, but very
close.)
In addition, I just set up AOL 8.0 on the computer. It
dials in, but then immediately gives an error message on
connecting ("AOL has detected a problem with your
connection. Please shut down AOL and reboot your
computer.")
FYI, there is only a "Local Area Connection" in
the "Networking and Communications" folder; when I try to
set up a new connection, the things I would need are
ghosted. There is no dial up connection listed for AOL,
and no DSL connection for the Verizon DSL.
I have uninstalled Windows2000, AOL. 9.0, AOL. 8.0 and
Verzon DSL 5.0 and reinstalled all but AOL 9.0, without
success. Neither AOL, Verizon, or the outside paid
consultants AOL referred me to seem to be able to help.
Any insight?
