Windows2000 Pro - workgroup is not accessible

I have two PC's - one is a Win2k Pro PC and the other is running
Fedora. I have just finished getting Samba to work between these and
now the W2k box is complaining whenever I select the workgroup name
under "Microsoft Windows Network" when it responds (after about 30
seconds) with the message "<workgroup> is not accessible. The network
name cannot be found."

I can ping both PC's and traceroute to both. I have a Network Place
set up which points to the Fedora box and I can browse the directories
there, but still cannot see either PC in either the "Microsoft Windows
Network" or "Computers Near Me" selector.

Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can solve this (other than
installing a Windows image on the Fedora box - I do not have the
financial resources available to do that, I am afraid).
