It depends what you want to manage using SNMP protocol, and how many nodes
you have in your network. If you want to manage PC, you have to additionally
install SNMP protocol. But if you intend to manage diferent nodes (switches,
printers, servers) they must let you use this protocol.
I'm using a tool called Netcrunch (testing new version) to monitor and
manage my network (http://www.adremsoft.com/nc3/features-detail.php?ix=2).
