Thanks for responding. You are correct in your assumption. After reading my
post I realize I forgot to put the most important part.

When connected to the vpn no one can see the actual game. For example I run
the dedicated server. It appears to launch fine. When everyone connects to
the vpn and then goes into their copy of the game and tries to use the LAN
game setting. No one can see the game?

Any ideas? As I mentioned below, everyone can log in fine and access shared
resources so as far as I know this should work.
