NO dns or dhcp is set up.
I have a simple linksys 8 port router from my cable service and the pcs ocme
off that. DHCP is enabled on the router. So each of the pcs are usually in
range from....192.168.1.1 through 192.169.1.10. The server I setup is one
of these, so nothing really connects to the server as it only has one card
etc. but it is part of network. It is 192.168.1.3 right now. all in same
workgroup, but cannot see server, what is odd is that the other pcs see each
other.
The router is set to default settings and that is to obtain ip and dns
automatically.
web server is iis on windows 2000 server, prot 81 as port 80 is blocked. MY
IP does not change often.
So what do you suggest?
PS. some pcs cannot see my webserver when type www.mydomain.com (I set up
forwarding to my ip and port throiugh godaddy). It works for most but this
particular pc that cannot see it is on a network with ISA server and maybe
they have this port blocked or something. Other friends pc can see.
Thanks in advance
