Hi Robert,
There are no known patches that cause any problems with RRAS. Most likely it was the result
of the reboot after the patches were applied that triggered a pending change that caused this
issue. This is often caused by third party drivers, especially updates to backup software. One
such issue is as follows:
Veritas driver for the tape backup device is installed
04mmdat.sys
Disabled this driver in the registry
Disabled all Veritas Services
RRAS starts and runs normally after this
Starts and runs on a system boot, stops and starts normally in the Services
applet
So with this in mind, you may want to check for any third party drivers causng this issue. Try
disabling third party software and reboot the server. Then narrow it down by re-enabling those
products a little at a time.
