Media Player doesn't work anymore

I get the error message: "services.exe has generated
errors and will be closed by windows" when trying to
launch Win Media player 9. It worked just fine until I
tried installing Symantec's antivirus software, which
didn't install properly. After uninstalling that I get the
same error.
