This is a common event issue and I believe Microsoft should address it.
I too am having this issue and it's getting out of hand.

Event 12017: “Desktop database for volume "Editorial" could not be loaded. Reconstructing the database.”

I have multiple shares and one is called Editorial. The others often have the same issue. Can any one suggest what needs to be done?
