Are you saying in Safe mode the PC is also slow?
I believe it looked about the same in Safe Mode.
msconfig is available here, if you dont have access to a winxp PC

I ran it, but what was I supposed to do with it?
I am running 'Process Explorer', so I have a good idea of
what system processes are using CPU resources. Invoking
an application sucks up most of the CPU, while DPC's
increase, probably because the CPU is busy. Eventually,
the programs load/run and the CPU regains time for the idle process.
This is only a 1.33 gig Athlon, but it should not be delaying things when
only one application is running. Some of the other processes are grabbing
bits of CPU for virus checking, etc. I just noticed my 'Weather Channel'
program is grabbing too much time, even though it is not active on the
desktop. I exited that one and will check for any improvements.
