is there any way to reduce the fan noise in a laptop?

I have changed fans and runs some fans at lower speed by using the 5v bus
for power in desktops.

any similar techniques with laptops?

thx, pjl

Don't mess. Thermally, laptops are balanced on a wire. Reduced fan
speed increases heat.

Every once in a while, there's a bios upgrade, that controls the fans
better.
