well, there was a funny problem.
mobo [with integrated raid] is asus p5nd2-se, with sata drives.
there is no special [separated] raid disk connector, but simply, on mobo
bios setup you check that raid is enabled, and in raid bios setup you
onwhich sata connectors bellongs to raid [very simple setup].
we prepared floppy with win2000 raid drivers [for "f6"], but it appeared
that bare win2000 is not able to recognize drives.
we needed install cd with previously integrated win2000 & sp4
is this normal behaviour [not to be able to install core/basic win2000
littlethis raid]?
or, are we missing something on "f6"?
on mobo/raid manual, there is no limitation, just marked "for win2000"
at this point now, it is solved [with integrated install pack] but is
bit strange.[snip]
any comments?
thnx
I've had this happen alot to me, you have to remember that mobo's with
SATA/RAID onboard [sometimes gigabit LAN too] are now 'standard' whereas
the OS is 6 or 7 yrs old. Whats worse here is that floppies only last a
day or two owing to humidity/electromagnetism regardless of where you
store them, making the F6 floppy-only step tricky :-)
Floppies only last a day or two (if that) due to lack of quality
control.
