if you have it on your primary ide channel as slave
try it on the secondary as master
(or visa versa)

RE: Trouble installing windows xp on laptop. ... if it is relatively new you could try calling the manufacturer for a replacement.... If new partitions and a format don't fix it...not much else will. ... (microsoft.public.windowsxp.help_and_support)
