I recently reformatted a Systemax Venture t10-B, because of virus/spyware
contamination. After the install, I've been unable to get the sound card
drivers for a Creative SoundBlaster Live! 5.1 card to install on startup. I
get error code 31 in the Device Manager. I've tried every possible driver,
from MS, from the pc maker, from Creative. Everything seems to install fine,
but I keep getting the error 31, windows can't load the drivers. I've
deinstalleed and reinstalled several times. Everything worked just fine
before the OS reinstall, which was a clean install, not an overwrite. I
notice that there is also an error 31 on the Plug and Play Software
Enumerator under System Devices in Device Manager. I've tried reinstalling
its drivers, but with the same result as the sound card. All my other PCI
devices are working fine and there are no hardware conflicts involving the
sound card. I'm trying to NOT do another reformat, so any help would be
greatly appreciated. I've scoured the KB and google for info, but nothing.
Thanks.
