There unfortunately is no "Voodoo 2" type solution for notebooks, where you
add-on a card to an existing system to limp it into the next generation.
Using this machine to experiment with Linux sounds like a great idea. Linux
can breathe new life into many an underpowered machine.

If the unit uses an MMC-2 processor module, then it can be picked up on ebay
for a reasonable price. The Tecra series is very small-bodied, though, and
I wouldn't be surprised to find out that it is not upgradeable, as the MMC-2
was a large piece of hardware.

By all means, take it to a qualified technician, and try to find a small
local shop. Your local Best Buy/Circuit City/etc. isn't going to help you.

>From this it looks like you only have 128MB RAM. I would strongly recommend
that for Windows 2000 you upgrade this as much as possible. 128MB won't get
you far these days...
